Sheffield Village is one of the first two Planned Unit Developments in the State established in 1939. Most of the pre and post war housing were charming English styled bungalows that dotted the gently curved tree lined streets. With the building of the freeway to the west, Sheffield Village became isolated with two entrances into the area. In addition to the tennis court, park and newly expanded and refurbished clubhouse, there is an active Homeowner’s Association which was instrumental in the newly acquired title of Historic District. With public transportation a few blocks away and San Leandro schools within walking distance, this is a place where young and old walk and play; a great place to call home.
